Track AI limits before they stop your workflow

AI coding tools increasingly use rolling usage windows, weekly limits and quota systems. AI Quota Radar helps developers understand when limits reset and whether their remaining quota is likely to last — starting with the Codex 5-hour window, the Codex weekly limit and your personal Codex quota.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is AI Quota Radar?

AI Quota Radar is an AI usage intelligence tool for developers. It helps you track AI usage limits, quota resets and burn rate across AI coding tools — starting with OpenAI Codex — so you know when your quota resets and whether it will last until then.

When does Codex reset?

Codex usage limits reset on personal rolling windows: the 5-hour limit resets five hours after your usage window started, and the weekly limit resets seven days after yours began. Your exact reset times are shown by the /status command in Codex. Separate global resets are not officially scheduled — we only display verified reset events and show 'No confirmed global reset time' when there is no reliable data.

How can I check my Codex quota?

Open Codex, run the /status command, copy the output and paste it into the AI Quota Radar quota tracker. The tracker reads your 5-hour remaining quota, weekly remaining quota and reset times, and shows them in a simple dashboard — no OpenAI login required.

What is the Codex 5-hour limit?

The Codex 5-hour limit is a rolling usage window: your usage is capped within any five-hour period, and capacity frees up again as the window rolls forward. Running /status in Codex shows how much of your current 5-hour window remains and when it resets.

What is the Codex weekly limit?

The Codex weekly limit is a separate usage cap that applies across a full week on top of the 5-hour window. Hitting the weekly limit pauses usage until your personal weekly reset time, even if your 5-hour window has capacity.

Does AI Quota Radar access my OpenAI account?

No. AI Quota Radar never connects to your OpenAI account and never asks for your OpenAI password, API key, session cookie or authentication token. You only paste the text output of the /status command.

Is my /status data uploaded?

No. Your Codex /status output is parsed locally in your browser and stored in your browser's localStorage on your own device. It is not uploaded to our servers.

Is AI Quota Radar affiliated with OpenAI?

No. AI Quota Radar is an independent tool built by developers for developers. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI.
